Dale R. Metz
Founder & CEO

Dale Metz, Founder & Chief Executive Officer

dale-metz-green-mountain-animal-vtDale Metz is a highly experienced executive specializing in corporate development and strategic planning. After serving in the Navy, he attended Champlain College and Bentley University where he earned his B.S. in Accounting. For over 20 years, he worked as a CPA for several firms; the majority of that time was spent with KPMG. In 1998, he retired from his position as Partner in Charge for Corporate Recovery at KPMG to become Chief Executive Officer of FoodScience Corporation, a manufacturer of human and animal supplements. Dale was a founding member of the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) in 2002 and today serves as Vice President and member of the Board. Once Dale joined the nutritional supplement industry, he identified the pet segment to be an area of growing opportunity. While consumers were interested in natural options to support their health, the key to a successful product was compliance. Dale stepped up to this challenge by working with his manufacturers to develop highly palatable soft chews as a delivery for nutritional supplements that pets would think were treats. Under his leadership, the company grew significantly, and in 2013, Dale retired from his position as CEO. Dale went on to explore other opportunities in the Animal Health industry, but finally decided it was time to manufacture his own products, thus founding Green Mountain Animal LLC.
